01About these terms
Inspect by Uxcel (“Inspect”, “we”, “us”) is a service of Uxcel, Inc., 2054 Vista Parkway, Suite 400, West Palm Beach, Florida 33411, United States. These terms apply when you use inspect.uxcel.com, enter a website to get an inspection page, or buy an inspection. “You” means you and, if you act for a company, that company.
By using Inspect or paying for an inspection, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
02What Inspect is
Inspect is an expert review of a software product. Two inspectors, a domain expert and a generalist, use your product as a real customer would, on camera, and assess it against our methodology. You get a private report and a public review in the Inspect directory.
03Inspection pages
When anyone enters a website on inspect.uxcel.com, we create an inspection page for it. To do that we:
- visit the site’s public homepage and, if there is one, its public pricing page. We never sign in, and we only read pages anyone can see;
- take a screenshot of the homepage and read its name, logo, colours and text;
- use an AI model (Claude, by Anthropic) to write a short factual summary from that text. It describes what the site says; it isn’t a verdict.
Inspection pages are private: they aren’t listed in the directory, linked from our site or indexed by search engines. Anyone with the link can view one. Unless the inspection is booked, the page is deleted after 30 days. If you run a site and want its inspection page removed sooner, email inspect@uxcel.com.
Please don’t use this feature to overload a site, to scrape it, or for anything unlawful.
04Booking and payment
An inspection costs the price shown at checkout, as a one-time fee. Payments are processed by Stripe; we never see or store your card details. Prices are in US dollars unless checkout shows another currency, in which case Stripe converts at the rate shown. You’re responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.
By booking, you confirm that you own the product or are authorised by the company that does.
05What you get
- Two named inspectors, matched to your product. We aim to match them within one business day of booking.
- An inspection of your product, recorded on camera.
- A private report: every finding, ranked by severity, with a prioritised roadmap of fixes.
- A public review of your product in the Inspect directory, with a do-follow link to your site.
We aim to deliver the review within 48 hours of the inspection. Timelines are our best estimate, not a guarantee, and depend on getting the access we need from you.
Products can earn up to three stars. Stars are awarded only on the inspectors’ judgement. Paying for an inspection buys an honest review, not stars or a favourable verdict.
06What we need from you
If your product needs an account, a trial, test data or a test payment method to inspect properly, you agree to provide them. Inspectors use your product as an ordinary customer would and only as needed for the inspection. Please give us test credentials rather than real customer accounts, and tell us about anything we should avoid.
If we can’t get the access we need within 30 days of booking, we may cancel the inspection and refund you in full.
07The review and its independence
The review is the inspectors’ honest opinion of your product. Before it’s published, we send it to you. You have 5 business days to point out factual errors, such as pricing, features or names, and we’ll correct anything that’s verifiably wrong. The verdict, findings and stars are the inspectors’ call and won’t change because you disagree with them. If we don’t hear from you within 5 business days, we publish the review as written.
08How long reviews stay listed
Published reviews stay in the directory for as long as Inspect runs, with the date of the inspection. You can ask us to take your review down at any time by emailing inspect@uxcel.com. Taking a review down doesn’t entitle you to a refund.
We may also update or remove a review, for example if your product changes substantially, shuts down, or if we need to for legal reasons.
09Cancellations and refunds
You can cancel for a full refund at any time before the inspection starts, which is when the inspectors begin recording. Once it has started, the fee is non-refundable.
If we can’t carry out the inspection for a reason on our side, we refund you in full. To cancel, email inspect@uxcel.com.
10Content, recordings and permissions
You give us permission to use your product’s name, logo, screenshots and the recordings of the inspection to carry out the inspection, to publish the review, and to show and promote it, including in videos and posts about the inspection on YouTube and social media.
We own the review, the report and the recordings. You may use the private report within your company. You may quote, share and link to the public review, and show the stars it earned, as long as you don’t alter them and you link to the review.
11Confidentiality
The private report is yours and we won’t publish it. Anything non-public you share with us, such as credentials, unreleased features or internal data, we keep confidential and use only for the inspection. The public review covers what any customer could see and won’t disclose information you’ve told us is confidential.
12Privacy
Uxcel’s Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. When you book, Stripe shares your name, email, billing address and, if you give them, your business name and tax ID with us, so we can deliver the inspection and send you updates about it.
13Acceptable use
Please don’t misuse Inspect: no attempts to break, overload or scrape the site, no booking inspections in someone else’s name without their authority, and nothing unlawful.
14Disclaimers
Inspections and reviews are expert opinions. We don’t promise any particular outcome from them, such as traffic, search rankings, sign-ups or revenue. Apart from what these terms say, the service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.
15Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Inspect won’t exceed the fees you paid us for Inspect in the six months before the claim.
16Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. If a dispute comes up, we’ll first try in good faith to resolve it together for 30 days. If we can’t, the state and federal courts in California have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either of us may seek urgent injunctive relief in any competent court.
17Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Changes apply to inspections booked after they’re published; an inspection you’ve already booked keeps the terms in place when you booked it.
